Independent Project
Artist Statement: I, in a way, made this a composition and the quotes project. I added captions of what song was either stuck in my head, or I was listening to it when I took the picture. I used the lyrics that, in my mind, went with these photos. I liked this project, It was really fun because we had so much freedom.
Meme
Artist Statement: Getting which photos to make into a meme was the easy part. Because of the lovely Eddie Sasser, I have a lot of meme worthy photos. The difficult part was figuring out what to write, but then the dearest Ms. Ortiz came along and helped me out. I think they turned out pretty good.

Inspirational Quote
Artist Statement: I was excited for this project. It was challenging, because there are so many quotes that have been significant in my life, so it was hard to choose 4 when I thought about it. I am glad I chose these, and I will explain why. I went with the brick wall background because I didn't really have the chance, or time, to get a better, more suiting, photograph.
Quote 1: "Nothing, is worth hurting yourself over. Nothing is worth taking your life, over. Do you understand?" This quote is extremely important to me, because the man who said it, Gerard Way, was a huge influence on me. I face a lot that I shouldn't have to as a kid, but, since life isn't fair, me and some others, have to. I went though an extremely hard time last school year and sometimes the only thing that would get me out of bed was knowing that this man, my hero, would be proud of me for doing so. He is a big success story and I trust him so much that this quote really got to me.
Quote 2: "Punk rock is about being who you are, and hating everyone else. Luckily there happens to be some music to go along with the feeling. Never ever try to be like the popular kids. F*** them. Love who you are F******." This quote is also important to me because I used to get made fun of, all. the. time. By my whole class, and to make it stop, I would try to change whatever they said, and I never learned that that, in a way, made things worse. Because I changed who I am in a bad way, for the wrong reasons, and still got made fun of. So I love this quote because it kind of helped me realize who I am.
Quote 3: "The first time you escape from home, or the small town you live- there's a reason it's called a small town, no one wants to live there" I like this quote a lot, because I am so so ready to escape home, and move away. That's about it for this quote.
Quote 4: "If you ever think about giving up, remember why you held on for so long." This person, Hayley Williams, is also one of my greatest heroes. She is so inspiring in every way, shape, and form to me. She taught me a lot about growing up, and being who I am, and not giving up. This is another quote, that in terms of significance to me, that is like the 1st one. It helped me though the worst times, and I can barely explain why this, or any for that matter, quote means so much to me.

Postcard
Artist Statement:
If I were to send out a postcard capturing what I see, this would be it. These are the views I see from 7:30-2:35 five days a week. This is what I see the most besides my own neighborhood. So, I decided to make it into my four postcards. I used greetings because it is just the kind of generic thing that is written on postcards, then I thought it was kind of boring, and I got Greetings and Salutations from this old movie called Heathers, a character named JD uses it to, well, greet people, and I love saying it so I decided to sneak it on one of the postcards

Installation Art
This project was sort of a difficult one. It was difficult because I had so many ideas but so little time. There was a lot having to do with superheroes I could've done, art, hobbies, anything, the possibilities were endless. In the midst of being frustrated that my original idea wasn't going to work out, on the last day we had to work on it, a song by one of my all time favorite bands, The Killers, started playing. The song is called Midnight Show, and it gave me the idea of a nighttime sky sort of thing. I am not too proud of this, because I had very limited amount of time to get to do this. So the challenge of this project was picking one topic, and the time aspect. And actually working, having materials, and a good space was the success.
Photo Montage
Artist Statement: Thsi project was not my favorite. I don't really like Photoshop, because it is so frustrating sometimes. The success of this project was the actual taking pictures, and the end result. The challenge was the thing in between, Photoshop.
Magazine Cover: Life
Artist Statement: I love LIFE Magazine, I love how each issue focuses on just one person, or band, throughout the whole magazine. I love how different this magazine is from others, and the layout is simple, but grabs your attention. I based this layout from the magazines earlier ones that came out in the 50's. It was a simple layout with the person who they were covering on the front, a simple headline, their title/logo, LIFE, and a red strip telling the date, and the price which was normally 20 cents. I changed the price to make it more reasonable for today's magazine prices, and added a bar code.
Faces of GW
Artist Statement: We researched artists like Richard Ross, Steven McCurry, but my favorite was Sally Mann. Something that inspired me was the fact that this was assigned. I don't necessarily have a style of photography, but I was hoping that the people would be natural, and hopefully smile. I created this piece because I wanted to get peoples stories out there. The only thing that this piece represents about me is maybe the style. The biggest challenge was talking to people, because I am VERY anti-social, a success was making the pictures black and white.
1. They are the youngest child, close with the siblings they grew up with, but not so much the ones that don't live here.
2. Oldest cousin, a lot of pressure to be that role model for the younger ones, but all 14 of them are very close.
3. They were very afraid to come out in middle school, because it was a charter school and they felt like the only gay person there. Now they are a lot more open about it, even though sometimes they still feel uncomfortable about it, if someone asks they wont lie.

For my project, my story is about a boy and his dog. They go to play by a lake, but then the dog falls in. The boy jumps in trying to save him but realizes he can't swim. He starts drowning until the dog comes to save him. They reach saftey and live happily ever after like the end of every story.

Egg Project
Artist Statement- This project was a lot of fun. Getting the egg in the right settings and backgrounds was tough, and getting the camera to focus was a little bit of a challenge. But I feel that the lighting was successful after a few tries!

I learned how to focus the camera, to get a decent picture. Getting the focus was difficult for me. Some of the pictures were successful. I know how to check the camera.
